Website Audit

Making a start - Website Audit

All SEO campaigns need to start off with some sort of audit. Without knowing how your site is currently performing we won't have a baseline or understanding what needs to change. In the early stages of an SEO campaign we will look for big quick early wins. Small improvements we can make for big returns. An audit can often highlight some of these things.

During a website audit we would normally look at things like on page technical SEO, crawl issues, backlinks, competitor research, keyword research and current rankings.

For more information you can visit our website audit page.

What is included in an SEO campaign

There are lots of things that affect the way your page ranks in search results.  In fact, Google uses over 200 ranking factors. A typical SEO campaign would include things like deep keyword research, onpage/technical seo, fixing crawlability issues, optimising content, mobile responsive issues, page speed, user interaction and back links.

We would look to prioritise the areas that provide the quickest results in any SEO campaign. We would always explain and talk you through our decisions and reasons so you remain in the picture of the 'what' and 'whys' of the work we would carry out.

SEO Consultancy

SEO consultancy

Some of our clients want to run their SEO campaigns in-house or by themselves, especially if they are on a limited budget. In these cases they just want someone to help and give guidance. This is something we are more than happy to do. We offer an SEO consultancy service which means that you get the benefit of our knowledge and insights but carry out the actual work inhouse. This can be a really cost effective way of improving your websites search rankings and learning skills as you go.

If this sounds like something that might interest you then get in touch and we can give you more details on how this works.

Measuring success and reporting

Any ongoing SEO campaign needs to include accurate reporting.  Without knowing what is happening, working and not working, it is impossible to know how to change and make improvements. We often see SEO campaigns where the reports are just a list of meaningless stats and figures without any explanation. We strive to add more value with our reporting, giving insight and explanation to what we are seeing in the statistics and reports.

Our reports also include detailed information on what we have done during the month as well as actions we will carry out in the next month so you know exactly what we are doing for the money.  Transparency is really important to us.

FAQs

We have included some of our frequently questions we get about our SEO below. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

How long do I have to run a SEO campaign before I start to see improvements?

SEO isn't a quick fix and it takes time. Think of it as a marathon rather than a sprint and our website needs to be constantly attended to and improved. There isn't really a magic wand that can be used. The amount of time it takes to start seeing results can vary. The levels of competition you might have, and the landscape you are working in will vary greatly.  We would suggest thinking of starting at 6 months.

Having said that, sometimes we notice big errors on a website (like blocking search engines) that can be easily fixed and give very fast results.

Is SEO still relevant in 2024?

Absolutely. It would be fair that other emerging marketing like social media engagement and building your brand through other channels is really important, search still makes up a huge percentage of ways users find information and interact with brands.

Can we do SEO in-house rather than outsourcing it?

Yes of course. We offer SEO consultancy services to help support you run your own SEO. If you want to find out more information on how this might work for you then get in touch.
