One of the most satisfying parts of running a web design agency is when we are able to design and build web applications that genuinely resolve issues or create opportunities for companies and organisations. We have recently been able to release a brand new website application which enables our client to be able to manage and their organisations email newsletters removing huge administration tasks saving time and increasing efficiency.
We designed and built this application from scratch using the popular Laravel ( PHP) framework. It features both a client facing interface as well as an admin section for line managers and enables role-based administration.
The basis of the application is fairly simple but it has some clever features which we were able to build in. The main purpose of the application is to allow the organisation to collate, manage and publish ( to PDF) their internal newsletters which are generated by dozens of staff and members. The application manages every aspect of the process, from setting deadline dates, providing a portal to for members to add newsletters and, allowing the organisation to review and publish their newsletters in pre-defined templates.
Other features include:
- Email reminders and late submissions
- Ability to add users into groups
- Ability to add extension dates for particular users
- Ability to save submissions and return to edit at a later date
- And much much more!
