Our Process

We want to take away the mystery and confusion that sometimes surrounds web design and we try and be as transparent about our process as possible.

We have lots of experience of managing projects of all sizes, and we understand the importance of good project management, and clear communication regardless of the size and scope of the project. We want you ensure our clients that we will make the whole creative process as simple as possible. We will happily work alongside other 3rd party suppliers if required to help bring all elements of your project together.

If you hire us we will supply you with a clear plan of how we intended to carry out the project and will include a detailed schedule of work with project milestones so you know what to expect from us and when it will be delivered.

A Typical project

Below is an example of the typical five stages of a project. Of course every project is unique, but this gives a broad overview of what you can expect.

  • Discovery

Before starting anything we will want to find out what makes you tick. What is unique about your brand, services or products? who are your customers? what areas do you need to grow in? Who are your competitors? Once we have a good understanding of what you are wanting to achieve we can start to put together a plan.

  • Planning

During the planning stage we will look to address they key points we highlighted during discovery. How do we engage your target audience? How do we increase user interaction? We will work with you to brainstorm ideas and formalise solutions to ensure we are getting the most out of your new website.

  • Design

Wireframing is basically putting together the building blocks of content and layout to your new site. Wireframes help us ensure we are getting putting in key content and functionality without getting bogged down in design and graphics. Wireframes are great for planning user experience and journeys and making sure that there is logical hierarchy to our designs.  Following the wireframes we enter the the design stage where we start to flesh out and bring our wireframes to life, adding colour, graphics and images. If you have brand guidelines then these will be used to guide the design.

  • Development

Once designs have been agreed and signed off the development stage follows. During this stage we take the flat designs and build them into working websites and add all the required functionality. This is also the stage were we plug the site into the CMS ( Usually MODX) so that our clients can access and administrate their sites themselves.  The site is built in a development environment that our clients have access to so they can fully test the site without it being live.

  • Deployment

Once the site has been developed, fully tested and approved by our client, we then look to deploy the site to the live environment. If it is a brand new site, this is a fairly straight forward action, however if we are replacing or upgrading an existing site the deployment maybe slightly more complicated - don’t worry though, we will talk you through this if necessary.

  • Support

Once the site is released we offer excellent help and support to ensure that you continue to get the most out of your new site. Our support includes essential software upgrades and patches as well as help and guidance in using your site. For more information view our support page
